Experience & research
Relaxation by design. Research guiding development.
Prometheus is designed to create an immersive quartz-resonance environment for relaxation, attentive listening and restorative pauses. Singing-bowl research offers promising context and helps shape the next stage of Prometheus testing.
The intended experience
Several ways to slow down.
Deep relaxation
Designed to create a quiet, immersive setting in which the body and mind can settle away from everyday demands.
Everyday decompression
A dedicated pause for unwinding from ordinary stress and shifting attention away from constant stimulation.
Quiet attention
The sustained presence of quartz resonance can provide a clear point of focus for attentive listening or meditation.
Evening wind-down
Prometheus may be explored as part of a calm pre-sleep routine, creating a deliberate transition from daily activity towards rest.
A session may be experienced as full-bodied resonance, sustained attention, physical settling or a sense of distance from everyday stimulation. The experience is personal and can vary between people and between sessions.
What research suggests
What current research suggests.
Recent systematic reviews of singing-bowl interventions report promising findings relating to anxiety, mood, stress, sleep and psychological wellbeing. Some studies also examine physiological indicators associated with relaxation.
The published literature spans different study designs, participant groups, session formats and outcome measures. Most of this work concerns Tibetan, Himalayan or metal singing bowls rather than a quartz-based system.
These studies did not involve Prometheus. Their findings provide useful context for future investigation of the complete Prometheus system.
Understanding the evidence
Research, experience and product testing each contribute something different.
Relaxation, attentive listening, mental decompression and restorative pauses are central to the intended experience.
Published singing-bowl studies report promising short-term findings, but methods, bowl types, populations and study quality vary.
Structured product testing is planned to explore the specific experiential and physiological effects of Prometheus.
Prometheus testing
Building evidence around the actual system.
Prototype testing will first examine acoustic behaviour, operating consistency and repeatability. Structured participant feedback can then explore relaxation, perceived stress, attention and the character of the experience using clearly defined methods.
Future investigation may extend to physiological measures through appropriate study design, suitable measurement methods and qualified research partners. Participant accounts will continue to be recorded as personal observations alongside structured test results.
